Summer Institute Online Registration For new admission counselors having from 0-11 months of experience, let us be your source for basic training! The three-day, two-night event will include professional development sessions on topics such as the admission cycle, travel season tips, professionalism in the workplace, and ways to ensure your effectiveness as a new counselor. You will have the opportunity to meet new counselors from Ohio and other states who you may see during your travel season, admission representatives from various Ohio institutions serving on the Summer Institute committee, and experienced admission representatives who will act as your mentors through boot camp and beyond. All work and no play make admissions boot camp no fun, so social events are scheduled to help you unwind and connect with other participants. Featured this year will be experienced counselor sessions for newer counselors who have between 6-11 months of experience. These sessions include topics such as territory development, recruiting non-traditional students, and managing student workers, to name a few. Boot camp will be held from Sunday, August 2, to Tuesday, August 4, on the beautiful campus of Denison University in Granville, Ohio. Participants will be housed in spacious, apartment-style housing with four single bedrooms (including bed(s), desk(s), dresser(s) and closet(s)), two full bathrooms, a full kitchen, and a furnished living room. All units are air conditioned, and pillows and linens are provided. All units are wireless and wired for internet access; the bedrooms and living room are equipped with cable hookups.
