About
The Ohio Association for College Admission Counseling (OACAC) is excited to offer our annual Supporting Student Success in College Admission Counseling Certificate. If you've participated in similar programming before, this year's series session topics and speakers are brand new. Topics include: How Has Education Changed in 2025: Changing Laws, Policies, and the Need for Advocacy; The College Going Journey: Navigating a College Campus with Confidence; Supporting First-Generation Students Through Their Journey: Admission, Engagement, and Graduation; and Unlocking Students' Futures: College Access for Rural Students This certificate will include four sessions, which will be offered live. Each session features experienced OACAC members and partners from outside Ohio sharing their experiences and promising practices on each topic. If you're unable to attend the session live, the recording will be available the next day. To earn the certificate, participants will be required to watch all four sessions and respond to a brief knowledge check questionnaire. Participants who complete and submit the questionnaires will receive an official certificate from OACAC. Those who complete the certificate will be recognized at OACAC's 2026 Annual Conference in Cuyahoga Falls. We will be hosting a collaborative session at the conference to allow participants to come together and discuss the certificate's topics in person. The cost to enroll in the series is $40, regardless of membership status. Proceeds will go towards OACAC-sponsored programming for college-bound students. If the cost to enroll (or any other factors) causes a significant barrier to participate, please contact professionaldevelopment@oacac.org to discuss grant funding opportunities, which can assist with the cost to participate in professional development opportunities, like this.
