About the Role
Responsibilities would include:
Recruit, qualify and counsel new students. Develops and implements a recruitment plan for an assigned territory.
Travel throughout their assigned territory for approximately 4-6 weeks in the fall, and 2 weeks in the spring. All travel would be accessible by car within 4 hours of Cleveland.
Focus on building relationships with students interested in Ursuline College. This would include completing assigned outreach via various communication methods such as email, text messaging, phone calls, in person meetings, group presentations, etc.
Implements and represents the programs through various events such as information sessions, high school visits, meetings with school counselors, college fairs, networking with alumnae and other on/off campus events.
Analyze recruitment strategies and report progress towards goals during bi-weekly meetings with supervisor.
Develop and adopt evolving admission procedures for recruitment through innovative best practices to meet the needs of first-year students.
Maintain knowledge of financial aid process and policies, Ursuline College academic programs and curriculum, transfer equivalencies, NCAA compliance topics, NACAC’s ethics guide, student life, etc.
Participate in daily Counselor-on-Call rotation, serving as the front-line customer service representative and Office of Undergraduate Admission point-person (COC) or daily interviewer (BCOC) on assigned days; responsible for timely and thorough handling of all undergraduate prospective student needs (first-year, transfer, adult, non-degree, etc.) on days assigned.
Support evening/weekend events throughout the year by attending/hosting approximately 2 Saturday visits and attending 2-4 events in the fall/spring semesters.
Develop relationships with various college constituents including faculty, staff, and students.
Serve as academic liaison to select majors, developing and maintaining innovative recruitment plan for each program of oversight, meeting annually with program director to review and refresh departmental initiatives.
Meets with inquiries/prospective students, conducts unofficial transcript evaluations, and assists in the application process.
Counsel prospective students and/or families in one-on-one meetings on campus.
Review applications and make recommendations on admission.
Serve on departmental and campus-wide committees.
The ideal candidate: Associate Director of First-Year Recruitment Strategies
Has previous admission experience and is looking to advance their career to a mid-level position.
If qualified, the ideal candidate with the right experience would be offered an Associate Director level position.
An Associate Director would have the same responsibilities as above, plus the following:Directly support the
Executive Director with strategic planning and marketing/communications.
Coordinates territory assignments and travel planning.
Develop and maintain reports and data related to first-year recruitment
This position will also include direct supervision of Admission Counselors.
Liaise with Advising and Orientation on delivery of programming and promotion of summer Summer Orientations and Fall Orientation.

This position is responsible for recruiting students into undergraduate programs in order to meet the college’s enrollment and revenue goals. Reports to the Executive Director of Admission.
