  • Expanding Your Recruitment Network: Effectively Engaging Independent Educational Consultants

    • HWCC 304

    • Presenters: Jamie Kirby, April Gamble

    • For many new admission professionals, independent educational consultants (IECs) are a frequently misunderstood part of the college admission landscape. Yet IECs work closely with students and families throughout the college search process and can serve as valuable partners in helping institutions connect with prospective applicants. This session will provide an introduction to the IEC profession, explain how IECs support students and families, and explore why building relationships with IECs can be an effective component of a recruitment strategy. Attendees will learn practical, ethical, and approachable ways to engage with IECs, increase their institution's visibility within the counseling community, and develop partnerships that support enrollment goals while helping students find their best-fit colleges. Participants will leave with actionable strategies they can immediately incorporate into their recruitment work.
