    • Did you know 54% of college-going students are the first in their family to go to college? This means the majority of students and families you are recruiting are brand new to the college admissions process. It’s our job as admissions professionals to help guide students and families through the process and that starts with laying off the jargon. During this presentation, we will go over what’s considered jargon, the different terms we use for the exact same thing, and how we can define these terms in ways that students and families can understand.

  • Staying Off Of Santa's Naughty List: Managing Your Professional Reputation For The Long Haul - TUC 425

    • College admissions can be a lot of fun, and one of the best things about working in this field is that we meet incredible people and develop fantastic relationships with them. Folks in our field tend to have enduring networks...and long memories. In this session, learn some simple steps you can take to protect your professional reputation for the long term while still building your network and making the most of the fun parts of this job.

  • The Admission Cycle: Explained by the NFL - TUC 427

    • Are you a fan of the NFL? Love cheering for your team every Sunday? Did you only start watching football to cheer for Taylor Swift’s boyfriend? Admission isn’t so different from the league! This session will provide parallels between the admission cycle and the National Football League, allowing you to understand tools for success through a passion many of us have! Helpful skills, tools, and information will be discussed and is open to anyone. This session will contain favoritism toward two teams.
